FlashFXP Mini-HOWTO: Connecting to an FTP Site with FlashFXP Using TLS-encrypted Authentication
FlashFXP is one of the most robust FTP clients as far as support for SSL/TLS encryption. In this HOWTO we will describe how to use FlashFXP to connect to a FTP site that uses TLS encryption for the authentication process.
Step 1 - Adding a New Site in the "Site Manager"
After you have installed and opened FlashFXP, go to:
SITES > SITE MANAGER
This will open a dialog box entitled "Site Manager". Click on the button entitled "NEW SITE".

Step 2 - Entering Your Site Name
This will open a new dialog box called "Create a new site". Enter any name you like, this will only be visible to you. Most people just put the domain name of the ftp server, for instance:
domain.com
Once you have entered your desired Site Name, click "OK" to proceed.

Step 3 - Entering Your Login Information
Now fill the form out with your login information, using the following image as an example. You will need to know your FTP server's "IP Address", your FTP account's "Username" and "Password". If you are unsure of this information, please ask your Service Provider or Server Admin.

Step 4 - Selecting TLS in the SSL Tab
Next you will need to click on the "SSL" tab at the top and select "Auth TLS". Uncheck the two boxes below this selection, "Secure File Listing" and "Secure File Transfers".

Step 5 - Applying Changes and Connecting to the Server
Now click on "APPLY" and a new dialog window will appear asking you if you want to "Save changes to domain.com". Click on "YES" and then press "CONNECT" to connect to the FTP server.

You should now have succesfully connected to an FTP server using TLS-encrypted authentication. If there were any errors and you were unable to connect, copy and paste the errors from the FTP client into an email to your Service Provider or Server Admin.
